2014 Inertia   Our 2014 Inertia is a Bordeaux blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc and 15% Merlot.   Bing cherries and chocolate impress immediately in the nose while plum and blueberries grace the supple palate.  French oak was used and it gives the wine a creamy richness.  Basically, it’s German Chocolate Cake in a glass.  Decadence is on display in the form of smooth tannins and a rich mouth feel.   Bottled unfiltered.

Our Phil’s Selection is a barrel selection of our favorite barrels from each vintage.  This bottling of Phil’s is blended with 10% Petite Sirah to add color and depth.

Our estate Cabernet Franc vines have produced some beautiful wines, and this 2015 is a Starr in the making.  These vines are dry farmed, meaning we did not irrigate them during the growing season.   This creates rich concentrated fruit (in extremely limited quantities) and in our case made a real show stopper of a wine.  So dark you can hardly see through it, this Cab Franc smells of black cherries and licorice while blue fruit and spice coat your tongue.  Enjoyable now, this bottle will age gracefully for 3-5 years.   Our 7th vintage in a row of Gold Medal, for Cab Franc.

Our Old Clone Zinfandel is an all estate wine made from the oldest Zinfandel vines in Nevada County, planted in 1980.  This 100% varietal shows a sense of place and highlights the fabulous characteristics of foothill Zinfandel.  Spicy dark red fruit, medium body and well-integrated, spicy tannins (did we say spicy yet?)

 The lovely 2016 growing season produced a Petite that is rich, opulent and ready to drink.  50% of the fruit for this wine came from our dry farmed vines, (which means we don’t irrigate them) so the wine is concentrated and full bodied, while the other 50% came ­from our head trained hill side vines, which imprints an aromatic spice character.   Dark spices of chocolate and pepper swirl out of the glass while blackberry pie and root beer await your palate.   Although being known as an age-worthy variety, this bottling is ready to enjoy now with hearty pastas, grilled meats or hard cheeses.  But don’t be afraid to age this one as well.  Treats will reveal themselves for years to come.

Dick Cooper basically created the Barbera uprising in the sierra foothills, and his fruit is now highly sought after.  This wine is a medium bodied, graceful gem. It’s loaded with black cherries and chocolate spice with smooth tannins and a polished finish. Since it’s a young wine, its loaded with freshness and an intensity that you will surely notice immediately.  Enjoy with hearty red pasta dishes or some pizza.

Our first ever Fume Blanc is made up of 100% estate fruit.  It is also a selection of our best lots, blended to a truly memorable wine.  Wine for this bottling was fermented in 60% large format French Oak and 40% concrete egg.  The resulting wine is rich, round and wonderful.

Our 2018 Solstice is a wine that we have produced from the very beginning and is a staple in the tasting room.  This new release is focused and full of energy.   Made up of 75% stainless steel fermentation, this bottle is loaded with crisp and fresh flavors of grapefruit and honeydew.  A combination of 50% estate fruit and 50% from the Indian Springs Vineyard, this wine gives a great sense of Nevada County terroir.

This blend of 70% Semillion and 30% Sauvignon Blanc is bound to charm and delight all who taste it.
